Who needs a nutritionist? Doctors.
One of my instructors told us he taught a lecture for medical students and doctors at a well-known medical school in Washington, DC. He was surprised that they didn’t know B6, B9, B12, zinc (Zn) and iron (Fe) are all needed to make a normal red blood cell (RBC) in the bone marrow. Without these in the right amounts, the body will not make a mature and properly formed RBC. The main job of the RBC is to carry oxygen to the cells. Reduced RBCs is anemia. There is more than 1 type of anemia, other than Fe anemia.Analyzing my own lab work, I found my alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels are low. ALP is a good marker to measure Zn levels. So my RBC production is possibly compromised. I’m increasing my intake of Zn rich foods, as well as taking a supplement.
So who’s coming to see me?

Lboggs@muih.edu(P.S. Family, please let me know if this is an inappropriate post for this group and site. I am nearing graduation and am in need of clinical hours for graduation and eventually board certification to become a Certified Nutrition Specialist. The clinical process is similar to anyone going into clinical practice as a med student, etc. I have been relying on the digital plantation to market nutrition services to get clients. That process isn’t working that great. If you know of anyone that might be interested and lives in the DC-Maryland area, please pass along my info (see above)….and either way, a quick prayer on my behalf is just as good. 😊 Thanks so much!)
