Peace and love everyone. I am Kpojito Alagba Ama Anane Yeboa Botwe Also known as Queen Mother Francesca Abbey. I would like to have a conversation about the necessity for initiation in traditional African =Black spirituality.

Good day Queenmother, I’m very interested in what you have to say about initiation into Black=African spirituality

Thank you Udal for your response. I want to know what others think of the necessity for initiation into African=Black Spirituality. Continental Africans as well as diasporan Africans have turned something as sacred as initiation into African=Black Spirituality into a business for profit. Many humble, economically disadvantaged people seeking to connect with their ancestors and/or Ori who don’t know how to tap into the source within are being taken advantage of. If priests of African=Black Spirituality genuinely care about our people, why do they do this? Is Initiation even necessary… especially if a person is already born into the spiritual system through their bloodline? What are your thoughts family?

Yes, Initiation is necessary even if the person is born into the spiritual system through their bloodline (not sure what that means in relation to bloodline). Our Ancestors saw the need and importance for Initiation since it serves as a process for training and the appropriate alignment to Ancestry and specific otherworldly beings.

I think given the current climat, life will initiate one with a sincere heart. I don’t think a “formal” initiation today is necessary to spiritually be initiated into a system/commune with the entities & dieties. Many babalows (if the one’s I speak of deserve the title) take advantage of “initiation” to make money. Nature and neterus don’t answe to mans system (in my experience) so neither do you if one wants to commune..my 2cents
