Some repatriating black vloggers are cool like the B.A G. Family and BlaxIT, etc. But a few of them. Ummmmm, no. Absolutely not. Not every ‘black’ person should relocate to Africa. Im not trying to leave here just to get the same nonsense I grew up with in The States. Colorism, cliques, interracial dating, etc. A decision to relocate to ‘The Continent’ should be about not wanting to carry that cave beast mentality back home. Bad enough some continental Africans do those very things. Any thoughts?

My problem with the particular vloggers are that they are taking westernized habits and concepts to African countries l dont have to explain what those things are. I think you know. Also, I encountered some of those very same things when I visited especially in Kenya. So AAs and other diasporans really just dont need to relocate there just to practice the same stuff. We/ they/I/you could just remain here in the West for that.As for ‘indigenous’ I encountered some when I visited village areas, but mostly I was in the city far from rural areas. I kind of think that modernization is cool for the continent. The problem is the ones who are financing construction of these projects(Chinese, Arabs, Wazungu). Its built by them and made for them as far as I can see. But hopefully many of us will return to build and kick them out. Btw, I love the rural and city life.

I visited Kenya in 2013 and 14 and Tanzania in 2012. I’m not living there now, but am working on returning and staying as I have personal connections there. As an African born and raised in ‘America’, in my opinion, it’s kind of westernized to expect Africa to just have ‘indigenous’ ppl. It does have no doubt, but it’s city life there as well. Its very diverse. I personally would advise diasporic Africans to detox mentally, spiritually and physically before visiting or relocating there. Some of us can visit or live there and come off as thinking we are ‘better’ because we were born in the United Snakes. But on the other hand, crakkaz and Chinese, Arabs go over there being very disrespectful to those who are from there because many there hold them in high esteem. Sometimes diasporic Africans going to the continent to connect with our roots(mizizi yetu)will be looked at negatively like, “you hate white ppl” then some of the continental Africans will go into ‘protection mode’ of their massaz. Very similar to how Africans in the diaspora do as well when they perceive that you are not very fond of caucasians. But overall that’s my personal outlook, but yet and still it’s a life changing experience and I look forward to returning one day. Hope that helps.
