Habari! Now I am prompted to let it out that I see Kiswahili borrows words from English, just like we do in our language, but sometimes if you try hard enough you can come up with a descriptive word or phrase to denote an object in pure African tongue. I wonder if that can’t be done in Swahili. Otherwise other words I find interesting are ‘panga’ and the derivatives. Also ‘kitara’ reminds me of a compound name I’ve come across before, ‘Bunyoro-Kitara’.

You’re right. ‘Panga’ is the standard machete. The derivatives ‘kipanga’ and ‘upanga’ are meant to denote the diminutive and augmentive forms of the standard respectively
