Thinking of the Honorable Marcus Garvey’s premature death, what are a few things we can do to protect ourselves against enemies that look like US? Maybe this should be discussed in person or via a live event? I feel we need to learn from their mistakes and practice as many safeguards as possible. What do you guys think?

My sister it is very interesting that you had these recent thoughts about the Hon Marcus Garvey because I’m a member of the UNIA here in NY and we recently had a group study on Garvey’s book Message to the People where in chapter 7 he discusses character and trustworthiness and how it was important to simply not to steal from the organization because you would be stealing from the effort to build our nation and as you may well know that a lot of our people helped in the undermining of the UNIA and until we has Black people can organize ourselves under the banner of our Africaness/Blackness we will continue to have enemies from within who will assist in undermining the liberation of African people. This is a great idea. How and when can we achieve this? This all ties into things Dr. Kamau Kambon says about how we treat other Afrikan people. I have his ebook on my laptop and will do further reading and look forward to having this discussion

Very important topic. We can look at it in terms of methods of checks and balances that can protect a system against the emergence of a fifth column seeking to undermine it

Now more than ever, we continue to be our biggest enemy, despite all the knowledge readily available at our fingertips.

Many of the we don’t know that we are a we.-
Even if the “we” knew they were part of a whole collection of We’s, I don’t think it would matter to most of them. The more I live, study, and experience life, the more I’m convinced that we are our worst enemy and that 66% of Us are no good to anyone anywhere. That’s actually a quote from one of our elder scholars but life is revealing this to Me and I’m adapting to it. I apologize for being pessimistic about most of Us but it’s critical out here and there is too much information at this point in time. I’m tired of MY own excuses and I’m gradually changing them. The older I get, the more I have less tolerance for certain things, especially not being Black first and committing treason at this point in time.

But there is a whole lot for me to learn and I’m here on abibitumiKasa to do just that.
