I went to an Afrikan shop here that sells mostly ingredients for Afrikan dishes. Anyway, the lady who worked there come to find out that she was Congolese she kind of had an attitude when she found out in her own eyes that I was an Afrikan so called AmeriKKKan. So, I asked her some questions about where she was from and she still kinda had an attitude. Mind you, Im getting the urge to cuss her out because I know had I been white she’d have very friendly. In fact, I said to her “I dont get a smile like you do for white folks?” Then she started smiling and becoming a little more ‘friendly.’ I found out she spoke Kiswahili and that she lived in KC for about five years. I realize that due to the meddling that neanderthals have done this has created an atmosphere of division and misunderstandings/misperceptions between both parties. Im glad I didnt over react and do what I initially felt like doing was to say a few heated things to her. Rather, I tried to build a bridge and will definitely return to the store in the very near future.

It took me so much patience to not really say something and call that behavior out. Especially since it’s largely those of us in the diaspora who are waking those on the continent up. So true describing this country as a regime.
