Hotep? Habari? Grand Rising? What do you all think of critical race theory? Im really trying to find out more about it. It seems like it is a Eurocentric viewpoint.

Htp. Critical Race Theory is a social theory that examines the persistence of racism, particularly in social structure and law. It emerged out of the limitations of Marxist legal theory to understand racism. It offers a fair critique of how society’s dominant institutions sustain racism.
In comparison to African-centered critiques of racism, such as Bobby E. Wright’s discourse on white psychopathy or Marimba Ani’s analysis of European culture, it is exceedingly limited. Hence its capacity to interrogate European culture as the basis for racism, and not simply laws or social structures is absent.
Further, CRT offers no path forward that would lead to the cessation of racism. The solution to our problem is our estrangement from our culture and our lack of sovereignty. CRT provides no framework for achieving these things, instead orienting us towards appeals to the existing system for redress. It is a reformist theory, and is not truly revolutionary.

The little I read about CRT, I could tell that it was not a theory that examined Europeans role in racism from an Afrikan centered perspective like you mentioned in your comment. Asante.

Exactly, because this one piece of literature I am reading about it I could tell that this theory can and likely will be hijacked by other groups as you pointed out already. As long as we look to white people and white people’s black people(like Vicki Dillard says), to solve our problems they will always create so called solutions to the race topic that will end up benefiting everyone but us like Asians and LGBTQs,etc. Like Okunini Heru basically stated our solutions are being reconnected to our culture and being sovereign over our own affairs.
