I’m unsure of what books you guys have already discussed but I’m always interested in anything by Nana Amos Wilson, Yurugu, Baba Baruti, Obenfo Kamau Kambon…the list goes on and on. Do you have a timeline on when the next book will be discussed?

Greetings! We have read Yurugu, The Psychological Development of the Black Child, Awakening the Natural Genius of Black Children. Currently we’re going to meet this Saturday 9/17 at 10 AM EST to discuss Part 3 Paradigms in Nationbuilding, Theory and Practice in Afrikan-centered Education. We should be done with the book by October, and then will be ready to choose a new one. Books group members have suggested before that we haven’t read yet are:
          1. The Maroon Within Us-Asa Hilliard
          2. Black Children: Their Roots, Culture, and Learning Styles-Janice E. Hale
          3. Blackmen: Obsolete, Single, Dangerous and The Clash of Races-Haki Madhubuti
          4. Identity – Mwalimu Baruti
          5. To Educate a People – Mwalimu Baruti
          6. Sankofa Movement: ReAfrikanization and the Reality of War – Kwame Agyei, Akua Nson Akoto
          7. Decolonising the African Mind- Chinweizu
          8. The Healers by Ayi Kwei Armah
          9. Two Thousand Seasons by Ayi Kwei Armah
          10. Self-healing power and therapy by Baba Fu-Kiau

Vote on one you’re interested in joining in on : )

Wow!! Blacknificent! I would vote on The Healers, by the Black Brilliant Ayi Kwei Armah (I have this book and haven’t read it yet or Identity by Baba Baruti…I bought a copy of 2000 seasons which blew my mind (on just a small part of what I was able to read) but it was missing so many pages…(An Amu had it and I took it off it hands even tho I knew he had destroyed it)….I will pay black attention to this group to see what’s next so I can buy it and get ready for it…Medase’
