What are 5 textiles/fabrics that meet the following criteria?

        1. The method of production was first conceptualized on the continent.

        2. Is currently being manufactured on the continent from plant to finished material.

        3. Is versatile (clothing, furniture, house decor, etc).

        4. Has potential to be marketed to Afrikan globally.

Please share what you may know so that we can discuss how to utilize our cultural productive forces to rebuild our economic sovereignty on the continent and internationally.

        Thank you!

My personal favorite is the barkcloth produced in Uganda. https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/barkcloth-making-in-uganda-00139

I saw something recent with banana tree fibers being made into cloth. Indigo dyeing, raffia, and bast (flax, jute, and kenaf) fibers.
