I’m Luzia from Bahia, Brasil, and I would like to share a little of the musicality of capoeira as our elders taught us here in Brazil. I am a disciple of master Celio Gomes, group Aluandê Capoeira Angola, student of master Cobra Mansa, from the lineage of master Pastinha. Mestre Pastinha was an important figure in capoeira here, having preserved the most original practice of strikes and movements known here, as well as the history and philosophy through manuscripts where he attests that capoeira was taught to him by an African.
Your approach to this ancestral art of self defense and education system , and your quest to re-Africanize this practice is very interesting! I hope one day to be together with you all to play and study!
