      The Teachings of Ptahhotep

      The Maxims of Ptahhotep

      He said unto his Son:

“If thou be a leader, as one directing the conduct of the multitude, first make sure thine own conduct to be without defect.”

      He addressed his Son:

“If you are a leader, as one judging the conduct of the people, first make sure your conduct is without fault.”

      He said to his Son:

“If you are a leader, as one judging the character of the people, first make sure your character is blameless.”

He spoke to unto his Son:

“If you want to be a leader where people follows you, first make sure your character is upright.”

Let me speak to my Son:

“If you want to be a leader where people follows you, first make sure your conduct, character, behavior, actions are pure.”

      He said unto his Son:

“If you want to be a leader where people follows you, first make sure there are no skeletons in your closet.”
