Earlier this year around June timeframe I learned that Baba Nobels received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from California State University Dominguez Hills and acknowledged Nana Asa Hilliard and the tradition of marronage. He emphasized education must be grounded in dry ground and pays homage to our grandcestors who educated our people through the worst of our days. He acknowledged he was nurtured by their resistance. As he closed, he introduced the term DEMM = Divine Energy Made Manifest. And exclaimed, We Are DEMM people!
