Mali Revokes 90 Mining Permits, Fostering Natural Resources Control

This decision includes the cancellation of permits obtained by international mining companies’ affiliates, Western media reported, citing an official decree.

Companies affected, according to the report:

Africa Mining SARL;

ALBAB MINING;

Prodigy Resources Ltd;

Wafi Mining SARL, and others.

The measure focuses on permits granted between 2015 and 2022 for the exploration of iron ore, gold, bauxite, and other minerals, according to the news outlet.

Such a policy aligns with the broader vision of several African states, aimed at tightening the mining sector with stricter rules, the media added.
