Zimbabwe to Improve Goat Meat Exports Using New Model

National trade organization ZimTrade and the Goat Breeders Association of Zimbabwe are working on a special cluster model for farmers to enhance export volumes, ZimTrade Client Advisor Velile Dube said.

By implementing clusters, small-scale farmers could jointly meet export demands, he noted.

“We hope to experience some successes and then replicate that to other parts of the country,” Dube stressed.

The Middle East is a key market for the goat meat, as entry barriers are usually lower; however, farmers would need to receive Halaal certification, he emphasized.
