More than 600 cases of cholera were registered in Burundi in October.

This was announced by Lilian Nkengurutse, head of the Public Health Emergency Management Center at the Ministry of Health.

“Since September 30, 2025, we have already registered more than 600 cases of cholera across the country; the situation is concerning,” she said.

From January to July, about 1,500 cases of cholera were recorded in the country, including six fatal cases. The city of Bujumbura was the most affected.
