Angola: Government proposes to cut the 2026 budget by 4.7%
The Angolan government has presented a draft budget for 2026 amounting to $36.05 billion, which is 4.7% less than in 2025. The budget aims to strengthen the country’s financial stability amid declining oil revenues and worsening external conditions.
Economic growth is forecasted at 2.6% in 2026, after 2.1% in 2025. Inflation has risen to 27.5% due to increases in food and diesel fuel prices.
The draft budget will be sent to the National Assembly for approval.
