Nigeria to Improve Sugar Production Self-Sufficiency With New Hub in Taraba

Taraba State has successfully met all technical and environmental suitability criteria with outstanding results, said National Sugar Development Council CEO Kamar Bakrin during a meeting with investors from the Chinese Lee Group.

“We consider the state as one of the most promising locations for sugar investment in Nigeria,” Bakrin noted.

The multi-million-dollar sugar project, according to Project Director of Lee Group Lam Wing Ki Wilkins, will:

🟠increase the state’s revenue;

🟠stimulate employment;

🟠support local businesses;

🟠empower farming communities through a comprehensive program.
