Cote d’Ivoire Achieves Historic Record Export of 72.000 Tonnes of Cashew Nuts in 2024

In 2024, export volumes increased by 52% compared to 2023 and are five times higher than in 2020, according to the General Directorate of Customs.

This success is driven by the growth in processing factories, which have more than doubled from 17 in 2016 to over 35 today, boosted by massive public and private investments, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

Exports generated 249.1 billion CFA francs (approximately $440.5 million) in 2024, marking a 95% increase over 2023.

Despite these records, cashew kernels still represent only 30% of the total revenue from the cashew sector (728.1 billion CFA francs or $1.29 billion in 2024), with the remainder coming from raw nuts.

To reverse this trend, the Cotton and Cashew Council (CCC) is banking on new partnerships with local and international operators and on cascading industrial projects.

The goal is to process 50% of the national cashew nut production within Cote d’Ivoire by 2030.
