The African pledge:

I look at an African pledge (see attached file) created by a parent for their child to read and meditate on daily.

I made a few tweaks representing the version below:

The African People Pledge

We will remember the humanity, glory and suffering of our Ancestors.

We will honor the struggles and wisdom of our wise Elders.

We will strive to renew and live by the natural values of our people and the Earth.

I will seek peace and harmony within my home and with my neighbors.

I will be hospitable, by sharing and creating good things for my home and community.

I will listen, work and study so I may be a wise Leader.

I will listen more and talk less with humility from this day forward.

We will learn, so we can teach others not only by our words, but also by our actions.

We will cultivate self reliance and ethical cooperative relationships.

We will fight to protect and unify our home land.

We will raise and nurture many children for our nation.

I will be self disciplined, patient, and devoted to upright courage.

I will live as a model citizen to provide renewed direction for our people.

I AM intelligent, balanced in mind with an unselfish driven life with honor from this day forward.

We are the Ubuntu African People.

We are winners United not Divided.

We are ONE, We have WON!
