Re-reading Complementarity by Mwalimu Baruti
As I’m in Mzansi re-reading Complementarity (so I am ready for my complement and he’s ready for me since the EX-husband was 👎🏾). On page 69 “every Afrikan family should have a mission statement fully in line with its NationBuilding vision. TYPE (write) your family mission statement put on a worthy sheet of paper and frame it for protection. Visibly post it somewhere in the room where the family most frequently gathers for family activities. Read it often.”
- How many of us have a family mission statement in a place we see and read often??
- How many of us find value in having a mission statement for our families??
I have the Ngozu Saba and other NationBuilding statements and documents on my bedroom wall but not around the house. When I return to The Snakkkes I will sit down with my daughters and devise our mission statement and place it on the inside of the front door as a reminder before we walk into the destructive aAmw environments.
