Zimbabwe & Russia Pledge to Deepen Ties, Says President Mnangagwa

The two countries will continue to build on their long‑standing relationship across trade, politics, and health, Emmerson Mnangagwa said after a farewell meeting with outgoing Russian Ambassador Nikolay Krasilnikov in Harare.

For his part, the ambassador highlighted the following:

Russia is involved in diamond and gold projects in Zimbabwe;
Russian‑crewed helicopters now operate with local pilots and medics under a national air ambulance service;
A cybersecurity training program has been elevated to a national level.

Mnangagwa has been invited to the upcoming Russia‑Africa Summit in Moscow in October, where deeper multilateral cooperation is expected—especially once Zimbabwe takes up its non‑permanent seat on the UNSC, the envoy confirmed
