Just the other day I was thinking about what our Classical Kmtyw grandcestors accomplished and Baba Runoko Rashidi popped in my mind for some reason. Then I started to think about Baba Runoko Rashidi. I never had the chance to meet him, but I’ve watched several of his lectures over the past year. Based on these lectures, I would have loved to have met him and accompanied him on one of his study tours during his search for the global “Afrakan” presence.
He had a gift in the way he presented his lectures. It was like he was doing what he was assigned here to do. He came across as sincere, genuine, authentic, passionate, knowledgeable, and funny. He loved blacked people, and that showed throughout his lectures and in his relentless research.
He was/is a gem to Kmtyw. Maybe this is why Baba Runoko popped in my head. Because when I think about someone who is relentless about their love for Kmtyw and is gifted at doing so, Baba Runoko is definitely on my list.
And here it is I had this thought about Baba and I was trying to decide where I should write it down, when I find there is already a group here for him on Abibitumi.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bro Runoko and I cherished his friendship. He was a honest and dedicated scholar who had a deep love for his people. I traveled with him to Sudan along with Anthony Browder and visited all the ancient sites of Kush-Nubia. This was a life changing experience that I’ll never forget …
